GAMING 101

Build a Saudi-inspired world in Minecraft

Learn how to construct villas, skyline towers and heritage architecture.

Saudi Arabia’s landscape is easy to recognise. Wide deserts, bright skies and modern buildings rise from the sand with skylines in the distance. In Minecraft, you can recreate this feeling without complicated plans. All you need are bold shapes, clean blocks and a little patience. Start with a simple desert villa surrounded by sand and plants. Then expand your world with skyline towers and heritage-style buildings.

Choose your build and game mode

Before placing your first blocks, decide what you want to construct. You could begin with a modern desert villa, try a sandstone heritage-style building or create tall skyline towers rising from the desert.

Quick tip: If this is your first large build, start with a villa or heritage building. Once you feel comfortable with shapes and materials, move on to taller towers.

Recommended mode

Use Creative Mode to easily reach tall rooftops and add small gold accents so your skyline towers catch the sunlight.

Decide the size before building and pick simple materials

Medium builds are easier and leave space for desert details. Villas or heritage buildings can be 20–30 blocks wide and 10–15 blocks tall. Skyline towers can be 60–100 blocks tall so they stand out from far away.

Quick tip: Desert builds look best with light colours, clean surfaces and simple shapes.

Recommended blocks

Start from the ground and build step by step

Every build begins the same way. Flatten the ground. Mark the outline with temporary blocks. Check symmetry before building upward.

Quick tip: Build in small sections and step back often to check the shape.

Recommended method

Use vines or tulips on sandstone walls to add texture and make heritage-style desert buildings feel older and more atmospheric.

Bring everything together

Once the main build is ready, connect the scene. A Saudi-inspired Minecraft world works best when villas, heritage buildings and distant towers share the same desert space.

Quick tip: Leave space between builds so each one stands out.
