What we love: The sheer amount of customisation options! Pick between small, medium and large widgets and completely change up their design – choose the style, colour and font or use your photos as a background. You can also use Apple Intelligence to generate images to set as a background for certain widget styles.

Quick tip: Use the Timed Widgets feature to display different information throughout the day. For example, when you wake up, you might want to see the weather forecast. At lunchtime, maybe you’d prefer to know your step count. And wouldn’t it be helpful to see tomorrow’s important events before you go to sleep in the evening?

Meet the creator: Widgetsmith was created by David Smith, an indie developer who’s been making apps for Apple devices since 2008. Widgetsmith is Smith’s 59th app, and follows other projects such as Pedometer++ and Watchsmith. It’s been downloaded more than 100 million times since its release in September 2020.
