Sometimes simply leaving the house feels like a monumental task… especially when the door won’t open till you solve a puzzle! Leaving Home challenges you to move through a series of artful escape rooms in which simple actions – such as getting dressed and making breakfast – are wrapped in devious conundrums. Can you pull it together and find the exit?

What we love: Those “Aha!” moments when you realise the solution was hiding in plain sight. Like that odd diagram on the fridge door – could that be coffee cups viewed from above? By the time you’re flushing the toilet and banging the bathroom bin lid in a particular sequence, you’ll know you’ve cracked the code.

Quick tip: Many puzzles can be solved by observing nearby patterns. Rearrange the painting on the kitchen wall to look like the chequered tablecloth, for instance...

Meet the creator: Known for inventive puzzlers including Sugar (game) and Pink (game), Belgian solo developer Bart Bonte handles all the code, graphics and music in his creations. The idea for Leaving Home – his 23rd game on the App Store – came together while he was on his couch, musing about the patterns in his rugs, cushions and striped shirt.
