It’s not really a one star review (maybe 2 would be fairer), but I’ve given it that to counter all the excessive 4 & 5 star reviews. I won’t labour the problem of excessive and repetitive ads, as they are mentioned by others, as is the mind-boggling lack of picture-in-picture support, and there are so many other issues to mention - constantly being asked to turn on notifications when starting the app, no schedule for live programming, a “minimise” button on the video play that just kills it instead, probably the worst live video player I’ve seen - one control: play/pause and that that doesn’t even always work, being kicked out and having to restart (or go live) live programmes every time you do anything (including increasing screen brightness), a lack of AirPlay support, and fit and finish issues like the ‘continue playing’ bar overlapping the thumbnails at bottom of the Home Screen. I wish video apps would just adopt the built-in video player, but I suspect this (and the inordinate ad playing) are policy decisions to monetise us by collecting data on where we play/pause/skip to, which Apple presumably blocks developers recording. I don’t expect it to change, but it makes the app a total headache to use. And in the last few days, the app just hangs on the splash screen, and force quitting doesn’t fix it. I have discovered that deleting the app from my device and re-downloading it seems to provide a temporary fix, but I have to re-download it every 2 or 3 times I use it, which is so annoying!
