A leader in Vision Pro writing apps - one feature request

TouchDesk is the leading app (by far) amongst alternatives in Freeform, Crayon, SketchPro and AirDraw. I use this app with Logitech Muse on the latest beta OS, which works well. My only question to the developer is - how feasible would it be to control the start and stop of writing upon detection of the Muse’s tip making contact with a hard surface? Currently, start and stop of writing are determined by position relative to the horizontal canvas placement - if above the canvas, then don’t write. If in or exactly on the canvas, then write. However, it is very difficult for the user to consciously control the lift-height of the Muse when lifting during writing (next letter/word, multi-stroke letters). The Apple Pencil (for iPads) solve this using contact feedback readings from the Pencil - likely a pressure sensor on the Pencil’s tip to feedback in readings that the Pencil is making contact with the iPad screen. For the use-case of Logitech Muse - could something similar be achieved provided there is a way to read pressure feedback from the Muse?

Thank you so much for the kind words and for such a thoughtful suggestion — I really appreciate it!Right now, Muse input in TouchDesk uses the system-provided drawing behavior in visionOS (same as apps like Freeform). While Muse does expose tip contact / pressure signals, the system drawing behavior itself can’t be customized — meaning I can’t switch stroke start/stop logic to be driven by tip contact without leaving the system pipeline.To do that, TouchDesk would need to completely re-build the drawing system from scratch, including stroke handling, smoothing, prediction, and performance tuning. It’s technically possible, but it’s a very large piece of work.You’re absolutely right — controlling lift height for multi-stroke writing is genuinely hard, and this is great feedback. I’ll definitely keep exploring better solutions and see what’s possible in future visionOS updates.Thanks again for using TouchDesk and for taking the time to share this — it really means a lot 🙏

Hand issue but fun

Right now there is a bug that it makes you draw with your left and pan with your right. No way to swap back. Other than that its a lot of fun to paint. Hope to see a option to swap between left and right hand

Thanks for pointing that out! Left-handed drawing is now fully supported. Just pinch the canvas to toggle between left and right hand modes. Hope you enjoy painting even more now!

Right now there is a bug that it makes you draw with your left and pan with your right. No way to swap back. Other than that its a lot of fun to paint. Hope to see a option to swap between left and right hand

This app is a great proof of concept and shows what is likely coming in the future of VisionPro with regard to note-taking. However, in its current state, the controls are just too finicky and words look like a preschooler drew them no matter how carefully I try. I think if the app could recognize the tip of a pen or pencil and only use that for drawing input, we might be getting somewhere.
