The next generation of Apple Intelligence and Siri. New features to help parents create safe digital experiences for kids. And an expansive set of platform improvements, including design updates and performance improvements. The WWDC26 Keynote gave us a glimpse of groundbreaking features coming to macOS 27. Here’s a recap.
All-new Siri AI
An entirely new Siri experience built on the next generation of Apple Intelligence makes your Mac more personal and useful than ever. It’s a profoundly more capable assistant that helps you find what you need, it’s far more conversational, and it offers a new dedicated app to revisit and resume conversations. Siri is integrated right into Spotlight, so you can just type what you need.
Apple Intelligence across your apps
Apple Intelligence makes your everyday apps smarter and more useful—from browsing the web in Safari, to editing photos, to expressing your creativity with Image Playground. With just a click, you can compose and edit emails in your own writing style, or you can let the Passwords app navigate through account pages and update eligible compromised passwords.
Discover more about what’s onscreen
Visual Intelligence is coming to Mac, so you can ask Siri AI about virtually anything on your screen via a dedicated keyboard shortcut: Simply select the specific region on your display that you’re curious about—like a part of an image or a PDF—and Siri can answer your questions.
An even more refined design
Updates to Liquid Glass ensure exceptional readability with more uniform refraction and improved contrast. Uniform toolbars, edge-to-edge sidebars, and updated window shapes and menu-bar icons deliver a more refined experience. A new slider lets you easily customize how Liquid Glass looks, from ultra-clear to fully tinted.
Expansive improvements
From faster AirDrop transfers to more-relevant Spotlight search suggestions, enhancements throughout macOS 27 make the experience more responsive, reliable, and delightful.
More protections for parents
macOS is a safe and trusted platform for kids and teens, with powerful, intuitive, industry-leading child safety features that help parents and guardians keep kids safe—while preserving their privacy. You decide what content your kids can see, who they’re allowed to communicate with, when they can use their devices, and more, as you help guide them on their digital journey. And new features provide parents with guidance based on expert health research to help them decide what’s right for their kids.
