Savar's Leather Industry bustles
After Eid-ul-Azha, workers and tannery owners are busy collecting raw hides and preserving them with salt. Truckloads of hides are arriving at tanneries across the industrial area throughout the day. As the sector still lacks the environmental certification required for direct access to European markets, most of the hides are being exported to China.
