Alternative to JavaScript?

Hi ranchers,
What is alternative to JavaScript? Let us say if the client has disabled JavaScript then what are the alternatives?

Make a lot more round trips to the server.

With IE, there is VB Script, but when they disable client side scripting, they also disbale this.

There is nothing you can do other then rely on the server side as stated above.

Warn the user that the page requires Javascript to be enabled just like the banking sites tell you about cookies and help them enable the script

Actually it depends on what you do
In some cases CSS can effectivly replace javascript.
