Hi there
I carried out a reinstall of windows xp* the other day. Up that that point I had installed and used j2sdk1.4.0, 1.4.1 beta, and the plugins on these worked fine.
After the reinstall, I dled 1.4.1 beta sdk and tried installing it, and it appeared to work ok, until it came to the plugin.
It has not modified the registry settings in IE6, so it does not appear under the advanced menu in internet options.
The browser prompts me to dl the microsoft vm everytime I open a page with a java applet (WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!).
When I open the java plugin control panel, it says that it has not been configured for use with any web browser. I select the IE6 checkbox but when I hit apply it says that the registry cannot be updated. I'm admin on the computer and it worked fine before the reinstall!
Anyone had this problem before and are there any manual registry fixes?
Al
* Before you say anything, there was nothing wrong with windows in the end, my router was playing up and had to be reset!!
