Hi,

I am new to JavaFX and using JavaFX 2.2 with Netbeans 7.4 on Ubuntu 12.04.

In my application I have a MenuBar. When I click on a MenuItem I need to show a new Window. But when I click the MenuItem I am getting the below error:

Are you using any custom CSS? (if so, be sure to post it)

The error is in the internal JavaFX CSS parser and could be caused by either a bug in the parser or by passing CSS input containing content and formatted in a way it cannot handle.

Also try Java 8, there were a lot of bug fixes for Java 8 and for subsequent post java 8 update release development:
(both the latest release version http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html and the early access version https://jdk8.java.net/download.html).

Upgrade to Java 8u5 and see if you still have issues.

A lot of JavaFX for Java 7 is closed source, so I can't trace in the source the cause of your issue from the stack trace you provided.

Also try to create a minimal example (java source + css) which replicates your issue (on Java 8). Most of the CSS you provided seems irrelevant to the issue at hand, just supply only what you need in the form of an sscce.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
