Java FX is typically used for desktop Java. For Android, you need to learn Android and start building apps. There are lots of books and websites introducing Android. There's also some free courses online.

What is ADF? A search brings up American Dance Festival, Automatic Direction Finder, Alliance Defending Freedom, ah, and perhaps Oracle Application Development Framework? Not anything I've ever heard of before.

For database access you'd be looking at JDBC and perhaps an ORM such as Hibernate.

Being a vendor product, it is only useful if the company you are working for is using it. I recommend sticking with core Java/more common libraries because that knowledge would be useful at most/all jobs.

There is also a JavaFX forum here.  I recommend the book Learning JavaFX 8.
