As part of the Honorable Prime Minister's nationwide initiative to plant 250 million trees over the next five years, Dhaka WASA officially inaugurated a tree plantation programme at the Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant compound adjacent to Aftabnagar in the capital.
The programme was inaugurated by Dhaka WASA Managing Director Md Aminul Islam, who attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the importance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance, mitigating the adverse impacts of climate change, and promoting urban greening.
Among others present at the event were Deputy Managing Director (Human Resources and Administration) AKAM Fazlul Haque, Deputy Managing Director (Finance) Md. Mizanul Haque, Deputy Managing Director (O&M) Mirza Golam Kibria, and Deputy Managing Director (RP&D) Md Azizul Haque. Other engineers and officials of the organization also attended the programme.
Through this tree plantation initiative, Dhaka WASA reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
