In times of growing geopolitical tension, one question is especially close to my heart: How can we keep dialogue open across religious and cultural lines? 🌐 👉 Every day, we see how religion and identity shape societies, political discourse, and the way conflicts unfold. Too often, however, media coverage focuses on religion mainly in the context of crisis, conflict, and war. This does not reflect the full reality, and it overlooks the dedication of many religious leaders who take on responsibility in their communities to promote peaceful coexistence. That's why I believe we need to put much more light on interfaith dialogue, and on the role journalism can play in strengthening it. Responsible, independent media can create spaces for understanding, amplify diverse voices, and help build bridges where others see divisions. This is exactly what we will explore at the DW Global Media Forum 2026 in the session "Beyond coexistence: The media's role in interfaith dialogue." I am truly grateful that three outstanding personalities will share their perspectives with us: ➡️ Sally Azar, Pastor at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land ➡️ Dzevada Garic, Political Science Professor at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology ➡️ Pinchas Goldschmidt, President of the Conference of European Rabbis 🎤 DW Senior International Correspondent Fanny Facsar will host this important conversation 🙏 I warmly invite you to join us on June 23 and 24 at the Global Media Forum in Bonn. I very much look forward to the exchange and to meeting many of you there. More on the session ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dAMafZks
