Just stumbled across JMESPath, which aims to be a query language for JSON, and seems to have a decent spread of library support across languages:

While it isn't directly spec related, it could be useful to think about if/how the spec data layout would be able to be queried through tools such as this. And potentially any related tooling/ReconJSON compliant libraries could leverage ideas/features from this.
