disclaimer: I'm sorry if it is "Mandella effect" or if I mistaken it with GitFork (fork.dev) features.
In "graph" view, on branch merge nodes currently big fat (+) circle is displayed.
I have impression, that it was possible to toggle collapse/expand merged branch previously, but not for current release.
I cannot find a version where it works, so it really might be "Mandella effect".
Can it be a feature request then? It is really a helpful feature when one travels through the history and want to hide unrelated branches from the view.
