+1.  I would wrap generated code in even-more-visually-distinct markers,
both before and after, e.g.::

/* ------------------------- Begin ArgumentClinic ---------------- */
/* ------------------------- End ArgumentClinic ------------------ */

I think delineating gencode blocks this way makes it easier to ignore
them (or find them, if needed).
