'numpy.ndarray' object is not callable

for i in range(len(distances)):
    distances[i] = distances(p, points[i])
        

Error:

The error TypeError: 'numpy.ndarray' object is not callable means that you tried to call a numpy array as a function.

distances[i] = distances[p, points[i]]
