Most livestream recordings collect dust the moment the broadcast ends. But that one recording can become a podcast episode, a blog post, a newsletter section, audiogram clips, show notes, and more. Our friends at Switcher, Inc. put together a thorough guide on exactly how to make that happen, and they tapped our Head of Relationships, Greg Wasserman for his take on the podcast side of the equation. A few things Greg emphasized that are worth highlighting: – Audio quality matters more than video quality. Listeners will forgive a lot, but not bad audio. – Titles and descriptions are where most podcasters leave value on the table. –  Consistency is the difference between shows that grow and shows that plateau. If you work with video content in any capacity and aren't already thinking about audio distribution, this post is a good place to start. We're proud to be in an industry where platforms and competitors come together to move the industry forward. The Podcast Standards Project met in London for the Podcast Show London, Some key takeaways: • Securely signing video requests. A proposal to sign video requests from apps, so hosts can block bots from pulling down large amounts of video. • A standard for private podcast feeds. A proposal to define the different types of private feeds and improve on what hosting companies are already doing. • AI disclosure. There was a real consensus to adopt this. Our co-founder, Alberto, is writing up how platforms might all implement it. Worth saying clearly: this isn’t only an ethics thing, it’s also strategic. It helps creators stay compliant with regulations like the EU AI Act and Apple Podcasts’ requirements. • Item-level podroll recommendations. The “if you liked this episode, you might also enjoy…” idea. People liked it. Now we’re figuring out how to actually implement it. The industry is changing. Our platform is at the forefront of those discussions and the progress. 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁? 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁? 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗥𝗦𝗦.𝗰𝗼𝗺

You got them to press play. Now you have to keep them. Too many podcasts focus on getting attention — titles, thumbnails, and topics — but fall short once the episode begins. If you don’t hook your listener quickly, fulfill the promise you made, and guide them through a meaningful experience…they’ll drop off. Turn Listeners Into Engaged Fans Join RSS.com for a live workshop on how to use storytelling to create episodes that not only attract listeners, but keep them engaged and coming back. In this webinar, Greg Wasserman, Head of Relationships for RSS.com, and Rain Bennett, Host of The Storytelling Lab, Author of The Chief Storytelling Officer, keynote speaker, and filmmaker, will break down how great storytelling transforms your podcast from information into impact. What you’ll learn: → What storytelling really means in podcasting (and what it’s not) → How to hook your listener immediately and keep their attention → How to fulfill the promise your title and description made → A simple framework: Promise → Progress → Payoff → How to craft compelling stories across formats — solo, interviews, scripted, and more → How to align your content with what your audience actually came for (entertainment, education, or both) Why this matters Your podcast isn’t just content — it’s an experience. From the first 30 seconds to the final takeaway, storytelling is what determines whether someone keeps listening, remembers your episode, and shares it with others. By the end of this session, you’ll have a clear understanding of how to guide your audience through stories that deliver on expectations and create lasting impact. 📅 When: Wednesday, May 13th, 2026 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT

We recently did a webinar about podcast awards Highly recommend you check it out. Overview, which gives you some of the key learnings: • 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Awards recognize your work, validating months of effort and helping overcome the “is anyone listening?” feeling. • 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲: Submissions are reviewed by top industry professionals, giving your podcast exposure to influential executives. • 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: Winning can help secure grants, sponsorships, or new opportunities. Past winners have successfully used their accolades to grow funding and partnerships. • 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Awards facilitate discoverability for both judges (who find new shows) and creators (who get their podcasts in front of new audiences). • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹: Independent creators stand a real chance; major awards like Signal include categories for indie and student podcasters alongside big studios. • 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺: Not all awards are created equal. Research the judging criteria, who sits on the panels, categories offered, pricing, and promo support for nominees and winners. • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Awards often include live events, networking opportunities, and collaborative experiences, providing valuable community engagement. • 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲: Many high-quality creators hesitate to submit—don’t let self-doubt hold you back from opportunities for recognition and growth. • 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Consider what you want to be recognized for—overall show, specific episode, genre, or a particular aspect like sound design. • 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 & 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Submission fees vary. Assess what entry offers—exposure, promo support, feedback, or community building—beyond the trophy itself. • 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: Many awards accept entries from all over the world and across languages—your podcast’s reach isn’t limited to your home country. • 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Use awards as a reason to reach out for listener feedback or promote community Dropping the link to the webinar in the comments. 👇 As well as a list of awards to check out:👇
