BCCB Women, an organisation of Bangladeshi expatriates in Scarborough, Canada, arranged Eid Mela on April 7, said a press release.

Unlike traditional fairs, the event featured no buying or selling; instead, it focused on the values of sharing and caring.

The attendees were invited to contribute and exchange new or gently used clothing, bags, children’s toys and books.

The event created a welcoming space for community members to support one another and promote sustainability through reuse.

The event was managed by team leader Taniza Reza of BCCB Women, with support from the organisation’s founders, Rimon Mahmud and Shaima Hassan.

The organisers expressed their sincere gratitude to Khazana Mithai in Scarborough for providing the venue and supporting the initiative.

Appreciation was also extended to the volunteers whose efforts ensured the smooth organisation and distribution of items.

Organisers thanked all contributors and attendees for their participation and for embracing the spirit of generosity that defined the event.

BCCB Women reaffirmed their commitment to continuing community-focused initiatives aimed at uplifting and supporting individuals and families through collective effort.
