The Italian vocal group Mezzotono enthralled a Dhaka audience at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday.
The musical event was organised by the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka, in cooperation with the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic.
Comprising five members, the group Mezzotono performed using nothing but their voices in the Italian tradition of a cappella singing. During the concert, they collaborated with Bangladeshi troupes Srijoni and Teerandaj Repertory to perform the iconic Lalon song, ‘Milon Hobe Koto Dine.’
Recognised as Ambassadors of Italian Music, the group Mezzotono has performed in over 70 countries across five continents. Their unique showcases blend Italian culture, humor, and music, frequently accompanied by educational workshops tailored for students of all ages.
