Industry-univ collaboration needed for job growth in Bangladesh

In an interview with New Age Business Magazine, Professor Imran Rahman, a veteran academic at the School of Business, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), discussed the shortcomings within the country’s education system, spanning from primary to tertiary levels, and the challenges it faces in producing a skilled workforce. Professor Rahman, who began his teaching career at the Institute of Business Administration at Dhaka University in the early 1980s, recently completed his second term as vice-chancellor of ULAB. Speaking to Senior Correspondent Shahin Akhter recently while serving as vice-chancellor, he also highlighted the importance of collaboration between industry and universities in Bangladesh, emphasising the need to bridge the gap in the job market.
