One more dies with measles-like symptoms

One more person died from suspected measles in the country in the 24 hours until yesterday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), reports BSS.

During the same period, 1,142 new suspected measles cases were reported nationwide, while 136 confirmed patients were admitted to different hospitals, said a DGHS press release.

The release said a total of 87,929 suspected measles cases have been reported since March 15.

Of them, 72,405 patients have been admitted to different hospitals, while 68,782 have recovered and been discharged after treatment.

Since March 15, a total of 564 children have died from suspected measles across the country. Meanwhile, the number of confirmed measles-related deaths stood at 93 during the same period.

Meanwhile, one person died from dengue, and 113 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am yesterday, according to health data.

With the latest fatality and new admissions, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year has risen to six, while the cumulative number of cases has reached 4,412.

Currently, 269 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
