PM reaches Moulvibazar on daylong visit

Goes straight to the historic Victoria High School ground in Sreemangal to join a Family Card distribution programme

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reached Moulvibazar this afternoon on a daylong official visit to join Family Card distribution programmes and a political event.

He arrived at Sreemangal upazila in the district at 1:03pm by road from Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

Earlier, the prime minister departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 9:38 am and landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 10:20 am.

On his arrival at the Sylhet Osmani International Airport, Tarique Rahman, also ruling BNP chairman, was welcomed by political leaders and senior government officials.

From the Sylhet airport, the prime minister went straight to the historic Victoria High School ground in Sreemangal and joined a Family Card distribution programme there.

According to the tour schedule, Tarique Rahman will join another Family Card distribution programme at Moulvibazar Government High School grounds at 2:30pm.

Later in the afternoon, he will leave Moulvibazar Government High School ground for DuSai Resort. The prime minister will join a political meeting with party leaders there.

After the meeting, the premier will return to Sylhet and depart for Dhaka from Sylhet Osmani International Airport in the evening.

Tarique Rahman last visited Moulvibazar during the 12 February election campaign.

This is his first visit to the district as prime minister after the BNP formed the government with a landslide victory in the February 12 general election.
