Bashundhara Group distributes relief in Rajshahi, Gaibandha
Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, distributed relief materials among distressed people in Rajshahi and Gaibandha on Monday.
Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed vernacular dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided relief for underprivileged people through its social organisation Shuvasangha.
In Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi, 300 families affected by river erosion and the Covid-19 pandemic received relief materials from Shuvasangha volunteers.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakuria Union Parishad Chairman Merajul Islam said, “Bashundhara Group is the only corporate house to have spent money on the welfare of distressed people. The group is distributing relief among 2,00,000 families across the country. I express my thanks to Bashundhara Group owner and others concerned for the magnanimity.”
Upazila Agriculture Officer Safiullah Sultan, Shuvasangha Director Zakaria Jaman and Pabna District Correspondent of Kaler Kantho Ahmed-ul-Haque Rana were also present there.
In Charghat Upazila of the district, 300 distressed families got relief and facemasks from the Shuvasangha volunteer team.
Upazila Chairman Md Fakhrul Islam said, “Bashundhara Group is distributing relief among a marginal class of people. The relief is of great relief for the people who have lost job amid corona pandemic.”
Shuvasangha Director Zakaria Jaman and Pabna District Correspondent of Kaler Kantho Ahmed-ul-Haque Rana were present among others.
Meanwhile, Shuvasangha distributed relief materials among insolvent people, including students of an autism school, in Gaibandha.
Md Idris Ali, the headmaster of the school, said, “School has been closed due to Covid-19 pandemic for long. But students come to the school. We try to support them to the best of our ability. Bashundhara Group has done a great job by standing by them.”
Shuvasangha Director Zakaria Jaman, its district President Towhida Mahmud and Paribesh Andolon Convenor Waziur Rahman Rufel attended the event.
