I have installed Python 3.4.4 on XPSP3 and am trying to work my way through this tutorial. A Complete Tutorial on Ridge and Lasso Regression in Python http://www.analyticsvidhya.com/blog/2016/01/complete-tutorial-ridge-lasso-r… In Step 2 "Why Penalize the Magnitude of Coefficients?" we are shown this code: #Importing libraries. The same will be used throughout the article. import numpy as np import pandas as pd import random import matplotlib.pyplot as plt %matplotlib inline I get an error on the last line. I am running this code in Idle Python 3.4.4 Shell... When should I use "parent=None" in __ini__ and "parent" in super()

Hi Guys I'm writing since almost one-year codes in Python, using TKinter and PyQt5. I'm somehow able to writes GUIs in both of them. But since I'm using more Pyqt5 and using classes with initialization and super() constructs, and also I saw lots of videos and examples of coding them, I still don’t know exactly how and when should I use the parent in __init()__ and super() construct. For example, the following lines use "parent=None" in the __init__ construct and "parent" in the super() construct. And sometimes I do not see any of them in these two constructs. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: class MyClass1(QWidget): def __init__(self, name, parent=None): super(MyClass1, self).__init__(parent) print(self.parent().test) :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: And sometimes without "parent" like the following: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: class MyClass2(QWidget): def __init__(self, name): super(MyClass2, self).__init__() print(self.parent().test) :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Could anyone explain this to me when and for which action I have to use the first one "MyClass1" and when the second one "MyClass2"? Can someone explain the basics of googletrans in python? I want to make a program that translates stories into English, but I'm not sure how to get a translation printed. Also, is this needed to be done in an HTML file inside python? If so can someone provide basic code for a translation and how that should be written and work? Thank you

Converting py files to .exe and .dmg

Hi there, I have done a lot of looking around online to find out how to convert Python files to .exe and .dmg files, but I am confused. Could someone provide pointers/advice as to how I can turn a Python file into a Windows .exe and Mac .dmg file. Thanks for any help.

Pickle file and send via socket

Hello friends Does anyone know if it's possible to pickle and un-pickle a file across a network socket. i.e: First host pickles a file object and writes the pickled file object to a client socket. Second host reads the pickled file object from the server socket and un-pickles it. Can anyone provide a simple code example of the client and server sides? Thanks
