Afroza Abbas appointed as Jatiya Mohila Sangstha chair

Nationalist Women’s Party President Afroza Abbas has been appointed as the chairperson of the Jatiya Mohila Sangstha (National Women’s Organisation) for a two-year term.

The appointment was announced in a notification issued on Tuesday by the Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration.

According to the notification, Afroza Abbas has been appointed under Sections 8(1) and 8(2) of the Jatiya Mohila Sangstha Act, 1991, effective from the date of her joining.

The appointment is honorary and unpaid. The government may cancel the appointment at any time before the completion of the term if deemed necessary, while she may also resign by submitting a signed resignation letter to the government.

Afroza Abbas is the wife of BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas.
