A Police-Magistracy Conference was held in Barishal on Tuesday afternoon at the conference room of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court building, organized by the Barishal Judicial Magistracy.
The conference was chaired by Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Zahidul Azad. Discussions focused on improving coordination between the judiciary, police, and relevant agencies to ensure the efficient administration of criminal justice.
Key agenda items included the execution of pending court processes, ensuring the appearance and security of witnesses, timely production of undertrial prisoners before courts, execution of warrants, presentation of evidence, court security, prompt submission of medical certificates, uninterrupted power supply during court proceedings, and measures to expedite case disposal.
Among those present were Special Magistrate (Electricity Court) SM Mahfuz Alam, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Nahid Hossain, Senior Judicial Magistrates Md Mostafiz Rahman and Md Fazlur Rahman, Judicial Magistrates Ayesha Akter, Syed Abidul Haque, Abdullah Al Sayem, and Md Sihabur Rahman, along with representatives from the police, RAB, CID, PBI, prison authorities, health services, Anti-Corruption Commission, Department of Social Services, Department of Narcotics Control, and other government agencies.
The conference also provided directives and recommendations for resolving operational challenges and strengthening inter-agency cooperation to ensure smooth and effective judicial proceedings.
