One killed in Narsingdi clash

NARSINGDI, June 16: A youth was shot dead and at least 10 people from both sides were injured in a clash between local Nazim Uddin and Alal Munshi groups over dominance in Darigaon area of Nilakkha Union in Raipura Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased Anik, 20, was the son of former UP member Osman Mia of Darigaon area and a member of Nazim Uddin group.

According to the police and locals, following the clash, at least 10 people including Anik, Raju, Suman, Kashem and Mubarak were injured. Among them, Anik, Raju and Mubarak were taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital and from there to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Anik died.

Officer-in-Charge of Raipura Police Station Mujibur Rahman said currently, the situation is under the control.
