Objectives

  1. To conduct and support schemes to write, translate and publish books on Islamic Economics.
  2. To organize and conduct basic and applied research with a view to developing models and methods for the application of Shariah in the field of economics, finance, insurance and banking.
  3. To provide for the training and development of professional personnel in Islamic economics to meet the needs of research and Shariah observing banks and non-banking financial institutions.
  4. To evaluate the activities of institutions involved in Islamic and traditional economics, particularly banks, insurance companies, NGOs, government agencies, investment houses etc, identify their success and failures and suggest appropriate measures.
  5. To provide consultancy services on management, human resource development, research and development, institution building etc in the filed of Islamic economics, banking, insurance and finance to help solve specific problems.
  6. To hold meeting, seminars and symposia on various subjects of Islamic Economics.
  7. To maintain liaison with similar agencies home and abroad and promote co-operation and good relationship with other research organizations of the world working for the achievement of similar objectives.
