Bangladeshi student Rafiqul receives the Student Affairs Leadership Award
A Bangladeshi student has received an award in Malaysia in recognition of his leadership qualities, organizational skills, and contributions to student welfare activities among international students. The honor was conferred at the Nuzul Al-Quran Gathering and Iftar Mahfil event, held at the Multipurpose Auditorium of City University Malaysia.
This year, four students from four different countries received this award. Among them, Rafiqul Islam was the only Bangladeshi to achieve this honor.
The event's chief guest was Fajura Zufa binti Mustafa Kamal, the Director of the university's Student Affairs and Alumni division. She highlighted the importance of leadership development, ethical values, and multicultural harmony among international students.
Rafiqul Islam is a founding director of the City U Bangladeshi Youth Club. Additionally, as the Central Secretary of the Bangladeshi Youth Alliance Malaysia (BYAM), he works to organize expatriate students and develop leadership skills. He is also actively involved in various international voluntary initiatives.
After receiving the award, Rafiqul Islam said, "Our goal is to highlight the leadership, talent, and positive contributions of Bangladeshi students on the international stage."
It is noteworthy that this is the first time in the history of City University that a Bangladeshi student has received this Student Affairs Leadership Award.
