Apple TV 4K Introduces Enhanced Multiview Feature for Sports Fans
Technology giant Apple has introduced an upgraded version of its Multiview feature on Apple TV 4K, allowing sports enthusiasts to watch up to four live sporting events simultaneously on a single screen.
The feature, which was initially introduced on a limited scale in 2023, has recently received significant improvements aimed at enhancing the live sports viewing experience. With Multiview, users can divide their television or monitor screen into multiple sections and stream different matches or events at the same time.
Currently, the feature primarily supports three major sports categories: Major League Baseball (MLB), Major League Soccer (MLS), and Formula One (F1) racing.
According to reports, football fans are expected to benefit the most from the enhancement. Matches that previously required separate subscriptions are now integrated into Apple TV’s broader sports offering, enabling subscribers to keep multiple live games active on a single screen without additional costs.
For Formula One enthusiasts, the feature offers a particularly immersive experience. Users can watch the main race while simultaneously monitoring an onboard camera feed from a favorite driver, live timing data, and the race track map. Using the Apple TV remote, viewers can easily select any viewing panel and switch audio commentary to that specific feed.
Several international streaming platforms, including YouTube TV and Fubo, also provide similar multiview capabilities. However, technology analysts note that Apple TV 4K delivers a more refined and user-friendly implementation of the feature.
To access the upgraded Multiview experience, users must have an Apple TV 4K streaming device running the latest software version.
The enhancement reflects Apple’s ongoing efforts to improve sports streaming and provide viewers with greater flexibility in following multiple events simultaneously, particularly during busy sporting calendars when several high-profile matches or races take place at the same time.
